El Huarache Azteca

Had a couple of new goodies at EHA Saturday night.

Taco de barbacoa (smoked BBQ lamb), $2, huge portion, way too big for one tortilla.

Bacalao a la Vizcaina (special, $9), salt cod sauteed with onions, potatoes, peppers, chiles, almonds, capers, and raisins. Pretty good.

Pozole (special, $5.75), about as good as I've had in these parts, except that they had shredded lettuce instead of cabbage.

Huarache especial ($9), thin-sliced beef was pretty boring compared with chicken tinga. Wouldn't order again.

Had that barbacoa once. Way too strong for my palate. Any particular favorites on the menu? I've been wanting to go back.

The fresh-masa items (sopes, gorditas, quesadillas, huaraches) are why we go there. The chicken tinga is my favorite filling.

Address and hours (but no menu) are on their Web site.
