I'm trying to find the name of an oyster bar which I believe no longer exists... something like Ulgerrich's, though that's not exactly the name. It was iconic and simple, with a long bar. Any help would be much appreicated.

It looks like you are trying to spell Uglesich's, which closed about 2 years ago (before K), and was certainly an iconic neighborhood restaurant... but known for its long oyster bar? It wasn't that long that I can recall. How long ago are we talking?

That's the one. Thank you so much -- I really appreciate your help. I'm not certain about the bar because I never actually went (I needed the info for a story.) What would you say are the top remaining oyster bars in New Orleans?

Wow. I'm not really an expert, but my opinion would be

        Casamento's (the best)
        Pascal's Manale
        Felix's
        Acme

There's one across from the French Market, not sure how old and iconic it is. I would also include the newer, more upscale places with a raw bar like Bourbon House and Luke.

Good list, I'd add the outdoor oyster bar off of the paddock at the NO Fairgrounds (horse track).

            The Pearl
            Drago's
