Am into sweet potatoe fries - who serves the best in Monmouth or Ocean Cty?
If not the best, who serves them anyway???
Thanks

IMHO, the best are at Cornerstone Cafe in Freehold Boro. Good, but not as good, Brickwall in Asbury Park.

I went to Cornerstone Caffe recently, but didn't try the food. I will have to go back and get those fries. It's a really pleasant place to hang out.

I agree its a relaxing place to hang out and to listen to live music in the evening. The food, however, is pretty mediocre. Stick to the sweet potato fries and some of the salads (pear and provolone is very good).

Frog and the Peach, in New Brunswick, has sensational sweet potato fries. If you don't want to have a whole meal there, they are served as "Snacks" on the bar menu.

Edited to add: I now you asked for Monmouth and Ocean. But even though F&P is in Middlesex, the sweet potato fries are worth the trip.

Very good sweet potatoes fries at the Java Joint Cafe in Downtown Toms River.

I agree Brickwall in asbury park and Chat and Nibble also in Asbury both have very good sweet pot. fries.

Second Chat & Nibble for the sweet potato fries - I think they're better than the ones at Brickwall

How is Chat and Nibble? I've passed by a few times and have been meaning to stop by. It seems like a pretty casual place. Is it the sort of restaurant where I can drop in with the kids?

It's definitely a place where you can drop in with the kids. Very low key, slightly funky, better than decent food. Although I have other faves in AP for breakfast, the omelettes and such are ok, and it's a nice place for lunch (those fries!). It's popular with the locals, and the people watching can be a lot of fun.

I liked the sweet potato fries at Clementine's in Bradley. Can't compare to any others.

I'd stick with the Chat & Nibble for their late night or breakfast and lunch menu. All of those items are very good. Their turkey chilli is excellent and they are known for it. They also make very decent club sandwiches. I ate there once for dinner though and we thougth it was tasteless. i was shocked that Andrea Clurfield gave it such a good review...But for late night eating or good breakfast place you shouldn't be dissapointed!

Broadway Diner in Red Bank. Honestly, I can't even say how many afternoons I've ended up there with some friends for sweet potato fries and pancakes. Seriously the BEST hangover cute ever.
