Kid-, Adult-friendly near Port Authority
I'm looking for a good, kid-friendly place to take my sister and 3 1/2 year old nephew to lunch after they come in on the bus from Jersey this week. I'd like something good for the munchkin and also good for us grownups.
We'll be heading up to the Natural History museum afterwards, so UWS recs would be okay too.
Thanks!

If you like bbq, there's Virgil's, on 44th St., b/t B'way & 6th Av.

On the uws, for kid friendly we always take our nieces to Homer's (Amsterdam at 84th). It calls itself a "malt shop" and has things like mac & cheese, pbj, sliders as well as floats, donuts and such. Our nieces love it. For something that has a wider variety (still kid friendly but certainly more selection for adults) you can try EJ's Luncheonette (Amsterdam at 81st-ish). They do awesome "big" salads. As for near Port Authority, I'd recommend John's Pizza (44th St. just east of 8th ave).

I'll second Homer's, both for Nickelodeon on the flatscreens and for a menu that still features Fluffernutters. No pretensions, and a few missteps smoothed out by earnest servers, but last time I visited with a mixed crowd (adults and toddlers), my friends were very happy that their kids were happy.
