<content>Not sure which board is most appropriate for this entry ...

I have a juicer which when used, was able to duplicate to some degree "V8" juice.
I found I had to add carrots and celery to make the juice of more potent greens pleasant.

Due to convenience, I tried a "greens superfoods" product (requires just the addition of filtered or distilled water, or some other juice) which contains over 30 superfoods as well as various other foods, such as spearmint and stevia, which are the two most noticeable tastes in the resulting "juice."

The greens refer to items such as barley grass juice powder, wheat grass powder, chlorella, and spirulina. Among the other items are blends of various vegetables, fruits, and the latest recommended "health" supplements ranging from royal jelly to green tea and beyond.

I comment here, because I expected the product I purchased to taste like liquified grass, and to my surprise, the drink tasted like a pleasantly sweet spearmint milkshake - I would not know that it contained all the other items which I would think would be very distasteful. This product is called "Royal Greens Ultra Blend." To make this drink from ingredients in one's pantry would be highly impractical. For those of us that don't get the nutrients from our cooking each day, I would think something like this would be helpful.

I have heard that other greens drinks are difficult to get down, being rather distasteful, if mixed with just water, and require being mixed with a juice such as V8 or apple juice to make them pleasant to drink.

Has anyone had a good experience with other such drinks, such as Garden of Life's Perfect Food (be it the original, the current superfood of the berry versions), BioGreens, Life's Green(Puritan's Pride), Berry Green (New Chapter), Barlean's Greens, the Vitamin Shoppe's version of the greens powdered supplement, or any others?

I have read that Garden of Life's Perfect Food, while being of very high quality, is distasteful unless added to a juice. I noticed that it has a much higher level of greens (grasses) in it than some of the other brands like New Vitality's "Royal Greens" and some of the others.

I'd like to go for a very high amount of greens (maybe the Royal Greens amount is adequate, at 2700mg, consisting of barlety grass at 1500 and the other greens being the other amounts), but what I am beginning to see that unless other ingredients are added to almost "cover up" for the flavor of the greens, in this case the spearmint and the stevia, the taste from the powder added to water is distasteful.

I would just like to add the powder to distilled water and drink that. I could choose these products in a tablet form, but I have heard that a powdered form allows for faster and better absorption and assimilation. But due to the taste of this Royal Greens product, I desire to drink it moreso because it simply tastes great. Swallowing a tablet would take away from the gustatory enjoyment!

Obviously, anyone eating a variety of quality foods and preparing them in a healthful way wouldn't need to supplement his/her regimen with a powdered green such as the one I have discussed.

Feedback on the various tastes of these products would be appreciated!!
This is the first green product I have tried that contains a "basket" of various items, and I had to remind myself that not all such products will have such a pleasant taste.
