Best ice cream bar is at the Costco food court
For years I've seen the sign for the $1.50 hand dipped ice cream bar at the Los Feliz Costco food court and decided to try one tonight. It was fantastic !!!
Big "super premium" vanilla ice cream bar hand dipped in chocolate and covered with lots of crunchy roasted almonds. Dove bars or Balboa bars in Balboa don't even come close.

Hubby brought one home tonite-with the almonds. It's very big! Had a couple bites-YUMMY!
Santa Clarita Costco.

Not only self control, they melt very easily. They melt so fast that by the time I sit down and start chomping on it they get mushy and crack so I have to be careful how I eat it. But yes they are great. I feel like buying a few and putting them in an ice chest full of ice and bringing them home that way and put in freezer at home.

Agreed about the ice cream bar at Costco food court. It's the best, simply the best. You can get it with or without nuts on it. I think the nuts are diced almonds. If you are in Hawaii on vacation and go to the Costco there it's super cool because the nuts they use is macadamia nuts. Impressive.
For those of you who go to Costco food court and do not see the sign for the ice cream just ask for it. At the Alhambra Costco for sometime they took down the sign for some reason and I thought it was not being sold any longer but just for the heck of it I asked why it was not being sold any longer and I got the answer that they do still sell it. Well then I bought one. I am not sure if the sign is still down or if they put a sign up again but regardless of the sign it was still for sale so if your Costco does not have the sign then ask for it, it might be for sale still.

I don't know why the Costco ice cream bar doesn't get more love.
Given the quality of ice cream, the size, and the chocolate, it's easily about a $1 cheaper than any other ice cream bar that's prepared à la minute.
Heck, for those wondering whether a Costco membership is "worth it" if you buy just one bar ever week, you've "earned" your membership fee back and more.
Who cares about the dogs -- be they Hebrew or Kirkland -- go for the freaking ice cream, esp. when the weather is so damn cooperative.

Incorrect. I just had my first one yesterday, and it was at the Marina location.
And it's not for the faint-hearted. It's a huge bar absolutely smothered in milk chocolate and then completely encrusted with chopped almonds. The thing is so enormous and heavy, they have to serve it on a plate!
How much you'll enjoy it will probably depend on how much you like the Nestle-grade milk chocolate topping. Either way, though, it's certainly quite a bang for your buck-fifty.

Mmmm that sounds so good. I just looked up how many calories are in this thing at calorieking.com and it says 1 bar has 870 calories and supplies 60% of your recommended daily value of cholesterol and 66% of fat, and 140% of saturated fat. Oh my... but you have to splurge sometimes, huh?
