Only go here for the Happy Hr that's available M-F 3:30p-6:30p. Half off drinks like mojitos, sangrias, caiparinahas, select red & white whines, house magaritas, and house champagne, plus $3 draft beer.

I met up w/ friend and we both tried some tapas & drinks.

I got a sangrias that was half price like $3 (regular might be $6, not sure since P. paid). It was ok. P. got something before I met him & the caiparinaha which he enjoyed.

We got the Spanish tapa sampler $22-some were good, some were just ok. We finished it though. The guac that comes w/ 3 shrimp is nasty. The 3 shrimps were good. Dates were wrapped w/ Serrano ham & nasty cheese inside. Everything else was just ok.

Queso Fundido-Oaxcan cheese & smoked mushroom fondue, grilled poblano chiles, warm corn tortillas $8. What a joke. This is NOT Fondue people. It's just warm cheese goo w/ some mushroom and 3 warm corn tortillas on the side. Just bad.

Supposed to get FREE bread w/ dip, but waiter didn't give us any. Our total before tip was $37.09.

Hate this place. Avoid at all cost!!

Only good thing besides the happy hr 1/2 drinks is clean separate bathrooms. Well, the women's was anyways. 3 stalls & 2 sinks.

Credit cards taken. Outside & inside dining available.

I went here based on KK's review of the beef stew noodle soup for $5.75. I don't feel the love like he does. Luckily I wasn't that hungry cuz I ate a bunch at Cascal's, but that bowl is kinda small. I'm a big eater so maybe it's just me. Some beef stew pieces, thought it could be cooked longer, noodles were ok. I like wide noodles (fun) better.

They also have a beef stew wonton noodle soup for more $6+ that I might get next time I visit here.

I got my friend to try the Oxtail w/ rice or spaghetti $8.5-he got spaghetti. I don't think he liked it much. He asked what's that sauce, I go probably ketchup. It looks nasty, and the oxtail could be cooked a bit longer. I don't recommend it.

We both got Hot HK style milk tea that we thought were ok. Waiter brought out a cup of sugar so u can add your own amount of sugar to it.

Mango pudding is tiny for $2.5-small portion w/ some cream on top. Not recommended.

I might try beef tongue w/ rice next time I go. Oh, and you probably have to ask for water, none was given to us.

Only 1 unisex bathroom, inside there is a urinal on one wall, the other wall has the toilet, plus 1 sink. Soap & paper towels available.

Credit cards taken which is nice. Our total before tip was $23.54.

I'd probably go back since it's cheap & they take credit cards.

The HK skyline on one wall is worth seeing. Love that.

    1. fwiw i actually like cascal, it brings a much needed, refreshing atmosphere to castro st. it is on the more expensive side, however have excellent service, good food, and a more creative menu then the cookie cutter chinese, japanese (ramen & sushi), greek, and quasi medi that line the street. (not saying they're bad, just different).

i also like xanh, ryowa, maru ichi, shabuway, amarin, spice islands, kirin, sue's indian, and amichi's in the immediate area.
