large group (9 adults, 3 kids-5/7/11)- need suggestions for this weekend in village or soho

taking people from out of town, "comfort" food or italian preferable, on the inexpensive side for sit down- entrees less than 20 or so . thanks in advance

Hmmm, that's going to be tough especially if it has to be American or Italian and under $20. When you say village I assume you mean West/Central/Greenwich Village and not the East Village?

Are you guys OK with waiting or do you require reservations?

It's gonna be tough with a party of 9, but Jane might work.

For cheaper, there's always pizza (John's, No. 28? Aurturo's) but the wait for a table might take a while.
