Romantic Dining Venue

Greetings all!

I'm looking for a casual and romantic place for our third wedding anniversary dinner. We've decided to forego high dollar for moderately upscale. So far the best options I've seen are:

Euno (North End)

Petit Robert Bistro (Commonwealth Ave)

Antico Forno (North End)

We live in East Somerville and wouldn't mind sticking closeby. Although going closer into the Boston/Cambridge area would be okay as well.

Thanks for your input!

Euno is fantastic. My wife and I have dined there many times. There are a few great "romantic" tables downstairs by the fireplace that you can request. All in all it is a very nice spot and the food has always been top notch.

    Enjoy!

I recommend Grotto, very intimate and romantic with awesome italian food. I went there for an anniversary dinner, it worked out great.

Second the rec for Grotto. Euno is also great, especially if you can get one of the tables downstairs...or next to the window if it's a nice night...

Yeah, third for Grotto, though I'm hesitant to recommend as romantic after the slew of bad romantic evenings reported last summer.

All of DavisSquare's ideas are right on. I'd throw RendezVous into that Cambridge/Somerville mix.

Petit Robert Bistro in Kenmore is great and and incredible value. An order of appetizers, entrees, desserts and wine will often be less than $75.

Ten Tables in JP is also wonderful and very moderate. I'm due for a return there soon.

You're also very close to the North End, but I'm not very good at moderate dining there. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I'd say that RendezVous is significantly less romantic than Central Kitchen, a brighter and much larger room. Also, in my (limited) experience the food at the former has been inferior to the food at the latter.

Gargoyle's and EVOO in Somerville, and Oleana, the Blue Room, and Central Kitchen in Cambridge all fit your price range I think, and are totally delicious and close; romantic I'm not such an expert on.

Farther afield, you might try Ten Tables in JP which is very very cozy and very very delicious.

Thanks for the tips! We have actually dined at Oleana and found the place wonderful...until we got totally dissed regarding holding our rehearsal dinner there. Needless to say we haven't been back.

Just curious, but what does "totally dissed" mean? I'm always interested in hearing a war story or two, if you're in the mood to share :)
