simple salad advice

I have a hard time pairing a salad with a meal. I usually just go with the most basic greens-herbs-lemon-olive oil. Could anyone suggest a good, simple salad to accompany the following menu:

Steamed salmon with lemon & herbs
Ratatouille with zucchini, tomato and thyme

I have a recipe for a creamy basil dressing, but I think that might be too heavy. Maybe something with hericot verts?

  1. I'd do a corn salad -- you already have tomatoes and a green veg plus lots of herbs in the other dishes.

    1. Perhaps a salad of steamed tiny new potatoes, dressed with a Dijon-lemon vinaigrette?

      1. Greens with pecans, apples and maybe some grilled onions. I'd use a light oil based dressing or possibly balsamic vinegar.

        1. I like asparagus with salmon, so I'd consider an asparagus and mushroom salad... I make something close to this...

          1. You just can't go wrong with a Caesar...It's always great with anything...Be sure to make the dressing yourself, and don't forget the anchovies
