Lunch in Philly with elderly aunt

I am taking the train from NYC to visit my elderly aunt for the day. I would like to take her out for a moderately priced lunch and would like a rec. She is a very picky eater (resto.w/comfort foods would be fine) and lives across the street from the Children's Science Museum. We will have to take a taxi regardless, because she has difficulty walking, but don't want to go too far. Any suggestions?

Old Original Bookbinder's in Olde City.
She more than likely dined there when she was younger and the flashback would be nice for her.

If she dined at Bookbinders when she was younger, the flashback would probably kill her!!! How about Phillips Seafood at the Sheraton?

Check out the menu for Matyson's on 19th and Chestnut (http://www.matyson.com/lunch.html). Nice, comfortable, relatively inexpensive (nothing over $16) and the lunch was rated as best in philly '07.

I think Rembrant's would fit your needs nicely. It's a short cab ride, and the prices are very moderate. The food is straight forward comfort.

The Fountain Room at the Four Seasons Hotel (a block from the Franklin Institute) would probably fit your needs as it would have good food in a comfortable setting and you would probably not need a cab

This is very close but not in the "moderately priced lunch" sector.

The issue with the Please Touch Museum is that there is very little to eat in that area. The Four Seasons is all that is in walking distance for her.

Why not take a cab to Center City? What day of the week will you be here? A lot is open for lunch during the week and less on weekends.

I probably will be visiting on a Tuesday or Wednesday and believe I will be in the Center City vicinity( 150 N. 20th St.). I have no problem taking a cab, but don't want to spend more than $20 pp for lunch. Again, pleasant/subdued ambience and comfort foods among choices on menu. Thanks!

Have you thought about either the Art Museum or Water Works -- right opposite the Art Museum?
Both would fit the bill nicely.
