Carnation frozen malts

I used to get these at movie theaters all the time when I was a kid, but now the only place I know that sells them is at Dodger Stadium, and I'm not a big baseball fan. Anyone know where else to get them?

I THINK I've seen them at Albertsons...

Perhaps... At least at bigger ones (I think I saw them at the one at Washington and Lincoln)

I went to that Albertsons (the one next to Costco, right?) the other day looking for them and didn't see them. Guess I'll have to wait til my next Dodger game.

Yup! That one! Sorry to hear you struck out... perhaps it just a limited thing or my eyes playing tricks on me...

I'm not even sure Dodger Stadium sells them anymore.

I think they've been phased out ever since Nestle bought the brand.

Nope, had them last season... they have them or people like me would riot... It's just about the ONLY thing I buy at that park... :P

            That's good to know.

Anyone know if the malts are part of the all-you-can pavilion seats?

They have this this season too. I am headed to Albertsons today to see if they have them. That would be great if you could get them at the grocery store. That means I could have them all year round not just in the summer!

I was at the Dodger Game on Monday Night. My son had one.. I was reading the nutrition label and it showed facts for both Vanilla and Choclate. I had never had a Vanilla one. Sounds tasty to me has anyone had a Vanilla one??

If this is anything like my fiance's previous obsession with Minute Maid Frozen Lemonade cups in Disneyland, then here's the thing. He did a ridiculous amount of research on this and found them ONLY available wholesale.

His solution? Ask our friends who own a doughnut shop to use their business license to place an order at Foodworks in Santa Fe Springs. He got a dozen for about $12 (yes, a dollar a unit)....and they charge like $3.50? in the Magic Kingdom. We had them stuffed in our freezer for months.

A year later . . . I just saw those Minute Maid Frozen Lemonade cups at the 99 cents store! Sherman Way & DeSoto in Canoga Park

The Smart and Final near me had cases of them last week. They were around $9.00 for a box of 12. Make sure that before you leave the store you open up one and make sure it's ok. My first box had melted and refrozen..Yuch.

The one on Copper Hill in Valencia. They only had one case left. You might call around and see who has some.

Interestingly, I saw them for sale individually at UCLA, at the SEAS cafe, but I didn't check the price.

Will give this thread another go-around and wanted to know if Carnation frozen malts are available anywhere in the San Gabriel Valley. Thanks!

When I saw the title of this thread I started to drool. I haven't been to Dodger Stadium in a few years, but a Carnation Malt Cup was always a must. They must be found!

In Monterey Park, we have an ice cream truck that comes by in the afternoon. He sells the frozen malts, in both vanilla and chocolate. Around buck a piece.
Man, does that sense memory take me back!

Sad to inform you that I read recently that someone contacted Carnation/Nestle and was told that there are no retail outlets where Carnation Frozen Malts can be bought.

Anybody got an idea how we could make our own? Preferably with no Carnation products (like chocolate-malt flavor Instant Breakfast - does that even still exist?). See y'all over on the Home Cooking Board...

Find an ice milk recipe. Then add a little malt powder and chocolate syrup. Start there and adjust to taste if the basic product is close. If you try it, let us know how it turns out

                                Thanks

There is a place in the valley, not sure the name, but its on parthenia just east of tampa one signal (north side of parthenia). it is a wholesale ice cream place for ice cream trucks that is open to the public. they dont carry carnation malt cups anymore due to the price being doubled in the last 6 months, but they do carry california dream - it tastes 100% the same as carnation! 12 cups for $5.95 just a little 411 for the malt cup lovers out htere looking for a fix.
