New Years Eve Restaurant Needed
Trying to find a restaurant for New Years Eve that doesn't cost a fortune. Good food, nice atmosphere, but less that $150. I don't mind if it is a set menu or not--would almost prefer that it isn't. Any suggestions???

Last year my boyfriend and I went to El Raigon. We were both very happy with the result. It is one of the best (and different) steaks I have had in a long time. They did a 3 (I think) fixed course dinner with an option for various starters and salads, a steak, and then dessert. It is an Argentine steak house in North Beach. I suggest you call to ask what there deal is going to be.

When my NYE plans to go out of town fell through at the very last minute last year, and I wasn't in the mood to stay home, hubby and I were able to get an early seating at Acme Chop House. I really enjoyed it. It might have been a bit more than $150, but that included tax, tip, a nice bottle of wine and pre-dinner drinks, and my recollection is that they had a version of the regular menu. It certainly wasn't a set price fixe, although the exact offerings may have varied slightly. To me, it had a nice celebratory but casual feel, but then, perhaps the fact that I am a Giants fan and had high hopes for the year (who was I kidding?) had something to do with that....
