  1. It's a tiny little Irish pub in an alley off the main street of town (Pacific). Pretty dark inside, with a back room devoted to darts, if I'm not mistaken. I think the crowd is mixed on the weekends, but I haven't been in a while (no longer live in S.Cruz). Go to Tacos Moreno on Water St. and order a couple quesadillas (they are more like tacos with whole pinto beans, cabbage, tomato, cheese, and salsa). You'll think you died and went to heaven.

Second the vote for Morenos. I'm a vegetarian, but my meat-eating friends drool over their Al Pastor burritos.

    1. No food these days. But back in the day, when it first opened, they had the best hot turkey sandwiches and the best cheeseburgers in town. Chris Matthews, pub master, is the soul of the place. Left thinking college types and union folks hang there now. Again, backin the day, it was the happening place, with town politicians, Nam vets, and university grad students and staff adding to the ambience. Great place. Real SC.
