Kutztown Folk Festival

We will be going to the Kutztown folk festival for the first time in a number of years and are wondering if anyone has any tips for meals and/or food purchases at the festival.

We're already familiar with the surrounding area,so I'm not asking about Berks county food in general-only at the Festival itself.

Dietrich's stand is already on our list, since we frequently visit their market in Krumsville. Anything else?

  1. I don't have any tips on eating, but a friend of mine says that the teachers in the area are going on strike on Sunday and will be blocking the entrances to the parking areas at the festival.

Well tghanks for the information. A websearch does reveal that there may be a faculty strike at Kutztown University starting July 1, The festival is not on University grounds but rather on the Fairgrounds ownd by the Kutztown Fair association. I do understand that the University runs the festival in Partnership with the Fair Association, so I can see that there might be picketing. It does occur to me that any disruption of the fair would lead to prompt injunctive relief and would result in overwhelming condemnation of the union by the local community. Therefore I doubt the union would even attempt to disrupt the fair.
      Anyway, we'll see.
