Trinity in Keyport,NJ
Ate at Trinity Sat. night. This is the converted church in Keyport. Didn't plan on reviewing it so I'll do my best. Decor is modern, dark, stark and pious(sorry, couldn't resist). Drink menu was cutting edge (many unique martinis). Appetizers were hip and delicious. I had the Lobster Martini, my lady had the Crab Margarita (yes the're food). Her steak was on the money, my dish, shrimp(plump), scallops, scungilli, and a delicate and scrumptious chilean sea bass over linguini was primo. I had green tea ice cream for dessert. Not sweet but different. Her mango sorbet was so-so. Service was fine until after dinner when dessert took forever to arrive. The place just opened Monday, so erratic service can be expected. I will surely return, it seems to have possibilities...and just for the record, the busboys are not alter boys.
kryptonite - Thanks for the review. This place has been on my radar since reading about it in the APP. While I'm interested in the place, I think I would have a hard time eating in a church. I will have to see if I can get up the courage.
