Globe Fish at Arlington Farmer's Market

I was wondering if anyone knows about the stand that sells fish at the Arlington farmer's market on Wednesdays (I think they may go to the Brookline market as well). I've bought fish from them a few times, and it's always been good quality, but I've been wondering lately about where it comes from. Is it fresh caught? Local? They have alaskan salmon, so it can't all be from around here. She said the crabmeat is from Maine, but I don't know about the other items.

In terms of sustainability, am I better off going to Whole Foods?

I wish they had more detail and less "under construction"! I'll have to do some research today, maybe.

    2. I get fish from her every Thursday in Brookline. I find it to be very fresh and reasonably priced. You can order ahead of time by emailing her.

      1. Thanks for the info! I ended up getting some Atlantic halibut, which was delicious. She said that it comes from all over the world, and the only thing previously frozen was the trout, which was and farmed in Idaho. The halibut and scallops were from New Bedford, wild salmon from the northwest, and a few things from Sri Lanka (can't remember which).

        1. I've had Globe fish several times, and I find the quality outstanding. I know they sell fish at the Hopkinton Farmers' Market on Fridays and will be at Newton when that market starts on July 10.
