Falafels

I desperately need help. I am a 51 year old man and have been out of the dating loop for some time. I am now dating someone who is somewhat of a foodie. Where can I take her for GOOD middle eastern? I really need to impress her. We live in Ventura, but are willing to travel.
Thank you!

Definitely try Carnival on Woodman in Sherman Oaks.

Also, Alcazar, Amir's, Tempo, and Zankou in the valley.

If you want to come over to the city, Gaby's Mediterranean in Venice and Sunnin Lebanese, as well as A Votre Sante (a healthier version).

In Hollywood, try Alwazir, M Cafe de Chaya (again a little healthier), Tasty Kabob, Falafel-Arax.

i'd skip sunnin for falafals if you want to impress her. most folks aren't impressed by falafals that have been microwaved....
instead, go across the street to shamshiri grill.
their falafals, imho, are really good and fresh; also, the restaurant itself is pretty nice and they have a very extensive menu of middle eastern food.

I'm a big fan of the falafels at Open Sesame in Long Beach. It's definitely a casual eatery, good people watching, very affordable.

        Good luck!
