Dining with farmers in Provence area - and any other recommendations for Tuscany

weezy1074 Jun 26, 2007 02:25 PM

I'm spending one week in Cabasse France (in Provence, near Brignoles) and have heard of programs where once can go and dine w/ local farmers. Any information dining w/ the local farmers (or any other info about where to eat in this area) would be helpful!

    You might want to try this web site for French farm meals, stays and products;

      A great suggestion.

      Also, you may want to check out www.gites-de-france.com

      Under the heading of chambres d'hote (bed and breakfast), there my be some farms that provide a table d'hote (guest table), which means they serve dinner as well. In addition, anytime you are in a rural area you can ask at the tourist information place for pointers (not recommendations) of the same. They are all over and some fall so far under the radar that they will only be listed in the very small towns and villages. Ceretainly not in a guide book and only sometimes on a web site.
