Dining with farmers in Tuscany area - and any other recommendations for Tuscany

I'm going to be in Tuscany (Santa Luce near Pisa) the first week of July. I've scoured the internet looking for a program where I can go to a farmers house and have a meal with them. I have heard of these events, peasant dinners sometimes they are called, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.
Any thoughts or suggestions of places to eat/visit near Santa Luce are welcomed.

    1. What you need to do is stay at an agriturismo. They are basically working farms with accomodations with meals usually family style with other guests and the farms owners. It really is a great way to experience true Italian regional cuisine where the food on table comes from the farm at which you are staying. You will never meet people more passionate about the food they present to you. . My wife and I are leaving in August for six months to research for a cookbook about these farms. We'll have a website that you can check out with recipes, photos, and videos of our travels. Check out chowhoud Italy posts in August for more information. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

      2. I can't really help with suggestions, but I can tell you that I have never forgotten one farmhouse meal in Umbria as part of a cooking course. There were 13 courses and I ate every one -second helpings on some! I never felt more like I was going to explode in my entire life! Still, I don't regret any of it.
