Having a business lunch and need a place near Sunset and Doheny. Really good food a must and, hopefully, a quiet-ish place for discussion. Any thoughts?

Talesai is closest but (depending on how authentic you like Thai food to be) only OK. Madeo on Beverly is good and can be quiet-ish but I am not sure if oopen for lunch.

Madeo is open for lunch--a great suggestion. Wonderful pasta. I had a business lunch there a few weeks ago; you can get a booth where you will have relative quiet. Be aware, though, that the prices are the same as on the dinner menu, so it won't be cheap.

Regarding proximity....

Blowfish Sushi is close to the corner of Sunset and Doheny. Average sushi by all accounts but cool ambiance.

Hamburger Hamlet is also close right there. say what you will about the food...love the taproom. Dark and clubby.

I'd consider going to the Gardens or even the Cafe at the Four Seasons.
The Little Next Door though not very upscale is good, or even The Little Door
Boa Steakhouse is a little farther down Sunset at La Cienaga, as is Vivoli Cafe, which I like a lot
It may seem heresy, but despite the price, I think Kate Mantilini is good for a business lunch.
