If you thought Monty's was that good, then Woodland Hills might not seem so far away for you to go to the only one left as I write.
Personally, I never got the place, and Taylor's does a much better job both in quality as well as value categories.
However, never tried the Taylor's in La Canada, only the LA version.›2 Replies-
re: carter
what's there to get? It was a place for old pasadena to dry big old martini's and watch their horses race at the track. All local steak houses are average at best...this icludes Arroyo Chop House, JJ's and Taylor's...they are geared to a fading clientele...these places need to reinvent themselves...I never claimed the food was stupendous....it was genuine!

re: chefthisguy
All you say is correct, the only satisfactory steak I've had there (Woodland Hills, and even the late Westwood) is the filet, charred blue. Sides disappoint. The Chicken sucks. Excellent drinks and the service is admirable. If in Woodland Hills (which we are) my first choice for a steakhouse is Ruth's Chris. Probably better to go further west to Mastro's.
