RIP Al Langer, Founder of Langer's Deli

Al Langer of Langer's Deli passed away Sunday at the age of 94, just over a week after the deli's 60th anniversary.

    Truly a legend in the field of delis. HIs pastrami is unequaled in the world, and I only thank the lord that his son Norm has the helm and will follow his father's footsteps with the utmost of care and love.

      Personally, I think Chow.com should send a big wreath to the funeral. Langer's has given a lot of Chowhounds joy!

        I hope Mr. Albert J. Langer finds that the pastrami in Heaven is even better than what he created for us mortals!

          AL has left quite a Legacy for his son Norm to continue.
          Norm has been running the business for years and the quality has endured.
          Only Deli to ever win the James Beard Award.
          Still the Best Pastrami Sandwich anywhere.
