I've got a recipe that calls for fromage blanc. I've never seen this in a Seattle store...well to be honest I've never looked for it, but I was wondering if anyone has seen this in a Seattle srtore?

Whole Foods carries it in the dairy case next to the creme fraiche. Metropolitan Market would likely have it as well. I've also seen it at the Market Creamery in Pike Place Market. Cream cheese would be a better alternative.

Besides those I'm pretty sure PCC and Delaurenti's also have it. I would just call any better grocery (ie not Safeway or QFC) nearest you and ask.

You can substitute good cream cheese or quark in most recipes. If you aren't worred about fat, I like a 50/50 mix of quark and creme Freshe. That's what I use when making flamekuche.
