In DC for 3 days, what are the can't misses?...

Looking for some recommendations on some must eat at places for lunch, dinner, and snacks. Mostly reasonable prices, but looking to splurge on one dinner while there. Thanks in advance..

I would go for some Ethiopian while you're here. Dukem is my fave, but there are many different places to choose from. If you've never had good Ethiopian you owe it to yourself to try one of the good places we have in abundance in DC.

For a unique joint kind of place, try Ben's Chili Bowl and get a chili half smoke, fries and a shake. A great lunch.

Two Amys Pizza a bit away from downtown (to say the least) is worth the trip as the pizza is very good, but they do not take reservations and it gets kind of crowded and noisy. But the food is good.

Jaleo and Zaytinya are worth it for tapas or mezzes, and you can graze. I think the food is better at Jaleo. Zaytinya is where all of the beautiful people go to be seen, IMO.

To splurge, get thee to Palena, in the back room.

My hotel is supposedly a five minute walk from the Smithsonian, but I'll be all over the place. I eat everything.

I've heard of Ben's, sounds like that will be one of my lunches.
