Thanks to Melanie for this recommendation! The soup (Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup) was everything as advertised! HUGE chunks of chuck floating in an excellently rich broth atop so many noodles I had difficulty finishing the bowl! (Note to Ms. Wong: I'd bet you'd enjoy the Sichuan dishes as well! Even though the broth was slicked with chili oil, it wasn't overpowering.)
My friend also enjoyed his rice plate (beef with gravy).
Total cost with tip $15.00 (service was excellent).
I'll be back!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! This is the kind of place that makes chowhound so valuable.
That's interesting that the beef is now cubes of chuck, which is more traditional. When I tried it last year, the beef was beef shank cut across the grain into thin slices swirled with gristle.
Out of curiosity, I searched the web for the "Foodtopia Restaurant" today. I found a post that dates back to Nov 23 2005. It is really make my day bright, because I was Foodtopia's original owner from Oct. 2004 to March 2006. I'm very happy that you were able to enjoy our food during that time. Even though it's two years later. I would still like to send you my great appreciationm and thank you. gogolo
