Barley in Cobble Hill

Hi 'hounds,

So last week went I went to Sahadi's I found out that they don't stock pearled barley anymore. This is the only place I've ever gone for my grain needs so now I'm at a bit of a loss. Does anybody have any ideas, or am I stuck with a barley-less mushroom soup?

Don't know if they have it, but I'd check out Oriental Grocery (across from Sahadi's on Atlantic) and Perelandra, the natural food store on Remsen. There's also Park Natural on Court between Union & President in Carroll Gardens.

Also, did you ask Charlie Sahadi if they've stopped stocking the pearled barley altogether? There was a time when they didn't have something I'd long bought there. After a couple of times I asked about it and he told me that he was having trouble finding a source at the price point he needed, but was looking at other suppliers. Sure enough, a few weeks later, it was back in stock.

    Good luck.

Fairway. If you don't have a car, you can get the B61 on Atlantic, which goes right there.
