Quick steak marinade

I need a quick steak marinade. I bought the sirloin on sale at WF and I think it looks a little chewy. I plan to pan grill it in in 6 hours so need a quick marinade. I'm watching my salt so I'm staying away from teriaki/soy. Red Wine and Garlic maybe?

  1. Here's one I'm using tonight, son is having steak, I'm having chicken breast (with a curry rub) on grill...this is more of a wet paste than a dry rub...not sure if the Worcestershire sauce presents sodium problems for you, there's only 1 tsp. of it, though:

    2 TB Chili powder
    2 TB brown sugar
    1 TB ground cumin
    2 teaspoons crushed garlic
    2 teaspoons cider vinegar
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Mix all together and rub on meat. You can cook right away or let sit for 1 hr. or 8 hrs. (in fridge of course).

Thanks Val. I made this one last night for a couple of bone in rib eyes and we loved it. I rubbed it on while the grill was getting hot so it was a short prep.

Glad it worked for you...in fact, I ended up using it on my chicken breast instead of making a entirely separate curry rub and it tasted pretty good on the chicken also.
