Positive review of Koo, Rye

No complaints here. Small sophisticated bar area on street level leads to dining level upstairs. Decor is sedate, yet tasteful, which hardly matters, considering that the food here is the real spectacle. Crispy lobster spring rolls were hot little bites of heaven. Smooth, buttery-textured lobster morsels paired with cool, crunchy cucumber in flaky crust and spiced to perfection by the accompanying sweet sauce. Even the sesame-sprinkled seaweed "slaw" underneath was refreshingly sweet-and-sour. Goat cheese spring rolls on a bed of spinach leaves were equally delicious, tangy and crispy at the same time. Smoked eel sushi a la carte was perfectly creamy and smoky, while the white tuna sushi was beautifully mauve and fleshy. The shrimp tempura roll, a standby favorite of mine, was the best I have ever tasted, with the perfect balance of tempura crisp and avocado cream. Spicy crunchy salmon roll = perfection. Also worth noting are the top-notch cocktails and extremely knowledgeable and professional service staff.

I agree. The closest thing to Nobu in Westchester.
