Oops, I responded previously before I saw this.
It's really old fashioned and sort of ugly, but the food and serivice are great, also in an old fashioned way. Nice lobster rolls: but I have on my list to get duck next time, everytime a waitress passes with a plate of it, I'm mad I didn't get it.

I really like the Modern Snack Bar. Mashed Turnips, Coconut Custard Pie. I also need to try their Duck...

I'll third the turnip. Not as good as mom's whose trick is to add a few carrots to sweeten it up. PLEASE be sure to stop at Junda's for some fabulous strudel.

Coll: Went to Oaklands a few weekends ago and had a great meal for pretty reasonable price. Hands down the best crab cake I have ever eaten and some really yummy tuna with avocado cream and mashed sweet potatoes. Much much better than Dockers.

You're right, their crab cake is outstanding. Just a great place to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. John Hill has been the chef for as long as I remember, he knows what he's doing for sure.
I've only had drinks at Dockers so I can't comment on their food.
