I was looking at this yogurt sundae recipe on Chow where the whey is drained from yogurt
http://www.chow.com/recipes/10618

They say the whey could be used to make a drink or curdle milk for some dishes.

Since I hate to throw anything away, what else could the whey be used for ... and what kind of drink?

Nothing like milk. It carries the sharp taste of yogurt, but is very light over all. I don't add anything.

Not a drink, but Graham Kerr used to talk about just adding it to a pot of beans...apparently the whey and the beans for a complete protein that is easier for the body to digest than either alone. I don't know a ton about this particular thing, but I always trusted Kerr.

It's because of Kerr that I got some good yogurt strainers to make cheese from my yogurt, and the reason I just drink the whey. I'll try the beans, thank yoiu.

In doing some quick reading on the 'net I see several cautions to add the whey after the beans are cooked because whatever interaction takes place will apparently arrest the cooking process. I'll have to expirement a bit.
