  1. What kind of food/price range? If you want a burger, Burger Joint. For casual French, La Bonne Soupe. Menchanko-Tei has good ramen.

any type of food is fine as long as it's good. =) price range up to $30/person.

All of my suggestions would fit in your price range

      2. re: Lucia

I second burger joint. If you are in the mood for Indian, Bay Leaf on 56th between 5th and 6th isn't far.

      3. Stella has great Italian food but it'd be tough to keep it under $30 unless you skip drinking, dessert... Plenty of grissini, olives, bread as freebies.

Is this the Stella on 50th? If so, it closed. It's now Bobby Van's.

        2. any other suggestions?

            Wu Liang Ye

I second Wu Liang Ye - its right in rockefeller center and the food is fast, cheap and tasty.

Wu Liang Ye is not in Rock Center but quite close to it. It's on 48th St., b/t 5th & 6th Avs.

          2. Marseille has a prix fixe.

Marseille is not exactly close to Rockefeller Center.

Thanks, RGR it's on 9th Avenue, too far West (I honed in on oneeyejack's Broadway show comment).

                1. re: financialdistrictresident

Not only is Marseille much further west, but it's on 44th, 14 blocks south of Rock Ctr. Like you, I'm a walker and wouldn't find it too far. But we can't presume the o.p. would feel the same.

            2. Alfredo of Rome is right there... and totally touristy but so good. Really fresh pasta, fun decor.

              1. You can try Bar Americain on 52nd. Or just the Rock Center cafe, if they're open for dinner. How about a drink at Morrell's Wine Bar? There's also a Heartland Brewery and Citi Grill.

Cite and Cite Grill closed several months ago.

I've actually had very good food at Morrell's. If the weather's conducive, they serve al fresco on their corner patio.
