Looking for a great meal in Tijuana

Hi,
I'm spending this weekend in San Diego with a friend who's never dipped down into Mexico before. Does anyone have a great recommendation for a meal in TJ (or somewhere else in Mexico within a quick drive from SD).

La Fonda Roberto's for some of the best Mexican food in the city.

Depends on what you're looking for. I wouldn't recommend La Diferencia. It's way overrated and overpriced, though it is a nice place to have some drinks after your meal. There is a place called Chiki Jai... THAT I recommend. Also some Mexican seafood might be nice, there are some places you might want to take a visit.

I've had good meals at La Diferencia but would try La Querencia given reviews

La Differencia, I had an amazing lunch there. A lady hound read a NYT article on it, and we planned a day around lonche there.
