There's a place one block up and just west of 2nd ave on the north side that has good coffee and is a quiet place for reading/studying. Not the same strollers and couches atmosphere of DTUT, but a nice haven nonetheless. One of my favorite places is further down, on 70th and lex, two doors up from the bakery on the corner, Sicaffe, great espresso drinks and a bright calm little front room.
I really wish there was a place like Doma further uptown, but I haven't found one yet.
