Favorite Salad at BLD?

Looking to branch out from the Albacore Tuna Salad that I usually order. Although, I love that fresh albacore underneath fresh greens, pistachio nuts, and horseradish dressing I would like to try something new. I like the non-salad items at BLD but I'm concentrating this thread to salads only. What's your favorite?

Beverly Blvd., owned by Neal Fraser who owns Grace Restaurant (also on Beverly Blvd)

    2. the only salad i've had there is the mixed greens salad, and it was terrific. i know, sounds boring, right? not so! i actually ordered the dressing on the side, and the seasoning from the braised baby vegetables perfumed the entire salad so perfectly that i don't think i even bothered with the dressing. it's been a while, but iirc, i detected hints of smoke & curry flavors in the vegetables, which i love.

i'm sure if you ask they'll do it with an added protein...i'll bet the grilled flatiron steak would be perfect on it.

Thanks for the rec...sounds great! BLD seems to mix flavors very well.

      2. The butter lettuce salad is probably the tastiest option, but the least nutritionally sound (bacon and blue cheese aren't the best choice - especially if, like me, you're looking for greens with some protein for your lunch or dinner). I used to order curry chicken salad, which was offered as a sandwich on the menu; I'd just order the chicken over undressed greens, which was acceptable to me. But they've taken it off, so I usually end up with the albacore salad, which would be better if they could a) show some restraint with the dressing and b) remember to bring out the dressing on the side, thereby eliminating my first concern. If their caesar salad had any flavor to speak of, I'd probably recommend it, but alas, it's just a default position when I don't know what else to order and I don't feel like wandering off the block.

Sigh.... I am fascinated/baffled by the love for BLD on this board. Check out our entry on the debacle that is Bad Lettuce Dinner....
