  1. I'm glad I checked before posting, hollerhither. I had a customer in Greenfield tell me this morning. I didn't have time to verify it until this afternoon when I called the Hampshire Gazette. Dreadful - we stop there nearly every weekend in the summer - on our way back to CT from kayaking on the Deerfield.
Great restaurant, great folks & they'd just got back from a trip to New Orleans to help folks still recovering from Katrina.
Please let us know if you hear anything else esp regarding relocating

    2. Terrible news. My wife and I always stopped there going down to or coming back from Connecticut. We loved their Q. The Ekus family are wonderful people and PapaLu gets my vote for the best pit boss in New England. Here's hoping that Holy Smokes will rise again.

      1. Awful, awful, awful. This is one of those Why do bad things happen to good people? situations. It was outstanding Q, a great setting, and the Ekuses couldn't have been nicer. I hope that--with some help from the community--they'll be back in business someday.
