If you are going to get your own grill out...
Edelweiss: 3119 SE 12th, off Powell, just over the Ross Island Bridge (they also cook some on site, small deli seating area)
Gartner's: 7450 N.E. Killingsworth, close to I-205 (in the summer they have a grill out front during lunch time)
Bavarian Sausage Deli: 8705 SW Locust St, near Washington Square Mall, off 217 (they have lunch specials, every German cut of meat imaginable)

Bavarian Sausage is partnered with the people who do The German Bakery out east on Sandy (105th-ish). You can get many of those meats there as well. Plus, Old Country German Sausage is only another block away.

I agree on The Dog House on E Burnside. :)

Apart from the ones mentioned by extramsg, I also like The Doghouse on E Burnside and 29th. I get the Kosher-style with 'kraut, mustard, relish and onions. Tasty, tasty tastes.

My favorite two are Superdog and Zach's Shack. Each has their advantages. But they're fairly far away, so choose the closest.
