JG and Restaurant Week

wanderlust21 Jun 20, 2007 04:44 PM

I'll be in town during summer restaurant week and wanted to book a RW dinner (I'm on a budget). Most of the Jean Georges restaurants only offer a lunch deal (Nougatine and Jojo). Two that offer a rw dinner are Perry St and Mercer Kitchen.

(1) Does anyone have any experience with the rw menu at these places? If they are just going to serve up roast chicken then I'll look elsewhere;
(2) Any thoughts on which of these two?
(3) Suggestions for another rw dinner that is not French or New American?

Thanks in advance!

    #3. Devi serves superb Indian cuisine, some of the best anywhere, in elegant surroundings. For RW, they are doing dinner as well as lunch.

      had RW lunches at Nougatine and Perry St...recommend N, NOT PS....N was signature JG, refined and done with care...PS was haphazard, entrees meant to be hot brought out lukewarm, etc. Skip it.

          Thanks, I don't know how I missed that. Do you think it's worth it to skip the rw and just splurge on JG?

          I'm going to give Maze and Park Avenue Summer a try since they are both new. Let me know how it turns out!

            i did restaurant week lunch at mercer kitchen last time, and there was plenty of selection, so i'm sure dinner would be equally as good, or better...was with 4 people, all with different combinations of dishes and we all enjoyed the selections.
