Good butcher in Edmonton

I'm looking for a butcher, preferably around the university or downtown. Can anyone recommend anything?

  1. I used to go to Queen City Meats downtown but it has been closed for a number of years now. I would go there for beef and to Colonial [now Sunterra in the Lendrum Shopping Centre for pork and lamb]. I am not a fan of the price at Sunterra.

When I lived in Old Strathcona I would go to Acme Meats on about 76th Avenue, east of Mill Creek Ravine. That too has been a number of years.

I am afraid I buy most of my meats from Sobey's or Safeway now.

Cameron Meats in the Crestwood Shopping Centre is on my "to try" list.

I have heard good things about the meat from the IGA on 99th Street near where Culina is. Same thing for the Andy's IGA on 142 Street south of Crestwood in the same strip mall as Picolino's.

    1. I like Brothers Meats over by Capilano. Good fair prices and great service. Not too far from the downtown core.

      1. Great. Thanks Bob Mac and pinko74. I'll check them out!!
