My brother-in-law and his wife are coming over for dinner tomorrow and they want to go to a nice Mexican place with good food. We just moved to the San Fernando Valley so I don't really know where to take them.

Any suggestions?

El Presidente at Rinaldi and Sepulveda will fit the bill.

Lite on Authentic but quite good.

For authentic try the small mexian restaurants that abound in the SFV. Perhaps others have a suggestion.

Casa Vega is a little on the pricey side but had pretty good food (I love their salad/tostada thing they serve with the dinner entrees and their albondigas) and is a Valley institution.

La Fogata might work for you, or the Oaxacan restaurant on Vanowen three doors or so west of Van Nuys Blvd. (I'm sorry, I don't know the name -- the sign says "Restaurante Oaxaqueño")

Cano's. Not so great but the owner is sweet.

none of these are authentic. It's all american mexican food. Good, but not the real thing.
