Boston foodie visiting Montreal

  • 2

I'm off to Montreal for a couple of days and am looking for good restaurant recommendations. I only have a couple of nights and would like to make one night - up scale with excellent food and wine and the other, great food for price. Any suggestions?

  1. great food for price, try L' Express on 3927 Saint-Denis St. Open for lunch and dinner. My must every time in Montreal.

    1. My wife and I had some really great meals in Montreal earlier this month. While everyone talks about Tocque as being Montreal's crown jewel, situated in Old Montreal, our "upscale" experience was at AIX Cuisine Du Terroir in the Hotel Place d'Armes, also in Old Montreal. The restaurant blew us away. Fluid, correct, service; impressive wine list (even if they don't list their wines by the glass on the menu); top-scale cuisine; delicious desserts. We can't compare it to Tocque, since we've never been there, but we can compare it to other restaurants we've been to and definitely put it high up on our list of great foodie-travel experiences.
