its finally opened!!! i happened to be walking by and saw a bunch of ppl just standing there. So we decided to give it a chance as well. 14 mins later...the doors finally open. i started cheering and clapping. i think i was like the 6th person in and by the time i sat down...the place was alraedy packed. i over heard Sang tell someone, he didnt release any opening dates. its crazy how he has such a following. burgers and beers were great as usual. go get your burger on.

Can anyone confirm this? Is it really open to the public, or is this just based on the "soft opening"?

God, but is all this hype really worth it? I don't know, I'm a little excited, but I think I'm going to wait to go there, unless the Falcons are invited especially.
I prefer to avoid the fuiror of fanboys, let the crowds dissapate, and let the place get into it's groove and work out the kinks.
Plus, dammit, I just don't want to cram through crowds into a place that won't let me order a burger the way I want it, or let me get the stupid olives without nuts, which I'm allergic to.
I mean, I didn't stand in those silly lines for Star Wars, either, and I don't feel deprived.
All the excited people are going to go when it's new, and crowded, when the kitchen and staff are still new. Then they are going to report back that it had "bad customer service, was too loud, everything was slow/rushed, and the food/my order/my burger/my beer was not right."
Let em warm up and get into whatever stride they get.
Then again, if our club is invited to some opening thing, which I doubt it will be, Since Yoon likes to ignore us, then maybe I'll get in early.
Still, I want to give this place a chance to really hit its stride before I go in and get a first impression.

Oh, you poor deluded fools. Haven't you figured out by now that the Culver City Father's Office is NEVER GOING TO OPEN? I mean, c'mon, it's been over a year. How long does it take to varnish eight 4' by 4' benches to feed fifty people?
It's just part of the same s/m vibe that keeps us going back to that hellhole on Montana Ave. for the best hamburger and sweet potato fries any of us will ever eat in our lifetimes.

re: Diana
Having just been by there -- and a fan of the Montana shop -- I am laughing at you, Diana, and maxzook! There is so much truth to your rants!
But I restate, the place is gorgeous! It matters not if you can dine there, it's worth stopping by on your way to dinner just to see the beauty!

Today's Los Angeles Times, Calendar page 17:
"The second F[ather's] O[ffice], a hop outside Culver City limits in the Helms building, promises more seats, patio and artisan liquors, and will open this month."
Bear in mind it's now been nine months since the O.P., and there have been several such promises in the interim.

Just went into the Culver City location. They're definitely opening this month. All the fixtures/ beer taps are up, just working on the finishing touches. I heard that they'll only be open for lunch Friday - Sunday. FYI: parking around there is already a zoo, it's likely to get a lot worse once the place opens...

LA Times says they're opening this March. Here's a link to the article:

My understanding is that at the new Culver City location, they will have a condiment bar so each patron can dress one's burger to their individual, unique specifications and preferences!

re: mparel
Thats my understanding as well, although they had a little snafu with the bar so not sure if that will affect the opening.
Also look out for the party bus around that time as well. Rent it out for parties and get Father's Office burgers & full beer taps brought to your door. That's going to do HUGE business with the Studios.

Go down to the middle of the page - supposedly working for July opening. They have pictures of the space and it looks like there won't be the same problem as SM in regards to capacity and seating. Thankfully they'll still have burgers, sounds like Sang would get rid of the if the demand wasn't so strong.
