We're going to be in the valley in the beginning of August and much to my horror, the Laundry will be closed for vacation. We have reservations at both Bouchon and Ad Hoc but will only be there for 1 nite so i have to cancel one. Anyone have any prefernce between them and why?

Ad Hoc. As long as you and your dining companion(s) are flexible eaters, the quantity and quality of what you are served is excellent -and- a bargain.
