Lunch before RENT for 16 year olds

Looking for cheap eats for Sunday late lunch before seeing RENT, the musical (w 41st street). Any where w/in walking distance or 9th Ave eateries ok!

any type food, not fancy, could be burgers or salads/sandwiches..... just want to keep costs down for this meal.

I agree with the above poster about John's Pizza. I also recomend Carmine's (family style Italian) and Virgil's BBQ. Good for teens. Enjoy the show!

As BW212 points out, people's idea of what "cheap" means can differ substantially. That said...

Marseille, on the corner of 9th Av. & 44th St., is an attractive, bustling brasserie with excellent food. On Sunday, they serve brunch, and on the menu are salads and sandwiches, including an excellent burger. A very popular pre-matinee spot, so reservations as a must!

I'm not sure what constitutes cheap for you, as even chain restaurants in NYC are a bit pricey, but here are some suggestions... Red Lobster, ESPN Zone, Hard Rock are all within a few blocks of there if you are looking for a chain restaurant that kids like. Also, John's Pizza on 44th street -where you can order Italian family style, or Carmines in the same block where you can do the same..

Or for a diner, there is the Westway Diner on 9th Avenue where Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld first conceived the concept for the show Seinfeld.

Right across the street, Pinnacle Bar at the Hilton. Not amazing, but pretty good pizza. I love RENT and had eats here many time before the show. Nice view.

Splurge a little and take the girls to Ruby Foos, they will love it.
