Ice cream in a bag?

ipsedixit Jun 18, 2007 05:03 PM

Anyone ever try this recipe for making ice cream?

I often have to entertain my nephew, and was wondering whether this would be a good idea.

Thanks.

I have made a sinilary recipe for a summer school class. It does work- but it also melts quickly. Have fun

My little brother did this once and he said it was quite enjoyable. It also works with one small coffee can nestled in a larger one. You basically just roll it around. Have fun.

I did this en masse last year with a group of 20. It's a fun, novel thing to do. Some bags worked better than others, and shaking a bag of ice got a little tedious. I think if you're doing this with one or 2 kids, it would be really fun. LL Bean and REI sell an ice cream ball, which does the same thing - a container inside another container that may be even more successful and more fun, as it's a ball you can roll around.
