Good restaurant near Magnolia Bakery?

Cuisine doesn't matter, just a nice atmosphere and great food.

      I really like Wallse. The lobster dishes are always perfectly executed, I love the wiener schnitzel. The sommelier is wonderful, and as a result I've discovered a lot of interesting Austrian wines. The desserts are "eh", IMHO, and on a rare occasion, the service can be iffy. But, I've always enjoyed the meals I've had there. And - the cocktails, especially the elderberry ones - are lovely.

      Edit - and though I've not tried it, I gather the goulash is not the dish to order. The fish dishes though have always been good.

        My sister and I adore Aldo, Wallse's sommelier; we've taken a Riesling class with him at Macy's DeGustibus. For dessert, I adore Wallse's Salzburger Nockerl; it's similar to a souffle (for those who may not be familiar with it).

        if you cant get into little owl, im actually a small fan of cafe cluny...especially in the summertime. its a nice open space, friendly staff, nice lighting...just a simple nice west village evening out.
