Lunch restaurant with lakeview or in park near GTA?

  • 4

Hi, can anyone recommend a light reasonably priced lunch place in a park setting, or with a lakeview somewhere in the GTA open on weekdays? Not Harbourfront or crowded areas. Peel or Durham region is also ok as long as within an hour's drive.

Just thinking of a salad/soup/sandwich or wings/wraps etc where one can get some fresh air or look out on the lake ...

  1. There is a restaraunt in the Sunnyside Pavillion which is right on the water. Here is the website:

The food is not half bad and it is a great place for a cold beer or drink on a hot sunny afternoon. I have gone for lunch many times during the week and never had a problem getting a table however the weekends and evenings can get pretty crazy.

    1. I think Snug Harbour restaurant in Port Credit (Mississauga) is what you're looking for. It has competent seafood dishes right at the lake with a pretty good patio. http://www.snugharbourrestaurant.com/

      1. The Waterside Bistro offers a decent soup-salad-wrap menu and a stunning waterfront view. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. Don't expect fine dining, but do expect a million-dollar view of the lake and the Islands.

The restaurant is at the back of the Waterside Sports Club, at the foot of Sherbourne just south of Queen's Quay. The restaurant is open to the public.

Their web site is at http://www.watersidesports.com/bistro...

        1. Toronto Botanical Garden Cafe is cute and has great sandwiches. Attached to 12 beautiful gardens that are free to stroll and enjoy the view. Free parking as well! Southwest corner of Lawrence and Leslie. www.torontobotanicalgarden.ca
