Italian for West Coast Visitors

Hello, I've got some relatives from Seattle coming to visit next weekend, and we're looking for a good, east coast authentic Italian restaurant. Note, I say East Coast Italian, as I'm looking for something that is representative Italian food in NYC.

They're staying UWS, but can travel around Manhattan. Price isn't an issue, but service should be good.

Thanks!

frankiess spuntino on clinton st. in LES - great meatballs, wine, and salads in a cute little tin roof place. totally affordable, too

For really, really good super traditional "East Coast Italian" (i.e. all the standards, brought to a whole new level) try Pietro's.

Is Pietro's different from San Pietro's? TIA.

Thanks - have often wondered this when seeing recs for Pietro's - anything that you particularly like there?

The spaghetti pomodoro is like Italy. The caesar salad is the best I've ever had. You really can't go wrong with whatever you order.
