Name that cafe

While in Montreal a few years back, a friend took me to a cafe that specialized in crazy sandwiches. The one I had contained (I think) cottage cheese, peanut butter, strawberries, bananas, etc... It was huge.

They have a nice garden with a fountain, and I would love to return there when I'm in Montreal next month. The only problem is that I have no idea what its called or where it is.

Any takers? A name would be greatly appreciated. A website would be even better.

Thanks in advance.

  1. Sounds like Santropol. Southwest corner of Duluth and St-Urbain. www.santropol.com

    1. Definitely Santropol.

Thanks so much! You found it. Is it as good as I remember?

That would depend on many years back you're talking about. I think Santropol had its best days in the late eightieas and early nineties. In the last decade, it's been cruising along. Nothing there is really outstanding. They don't seem to put a lot of care into the food there. The terasse is awesome, though.
