After my experience with Zante's Indian pizza in SF, I would not dare try this place.

I've had many delightful experiences with Zante's Indian pizza.

Robert, to be blunt, we have diametrically opposite tastes and mostly - opinions about food.
Zante's is the one and only time in my life, that I have had to throw away pizza.

Here’s the story I found after Googling around.

It opened in late 2006 with positive web reports as Crazy Frank’s Desi Pizza.
      http://www.crazyfrankspizza.com/

It closed a few months later in early 2007 and re-opened recently as Desi Pizza run by one of the original co-owners, Dominic Sakar.

From web reports, it seems unchanged … good all-you-can-eat Indian Pizza served dim sum style on rolling carts with an ok all-you-can-eat salad bar that has soup, pasta salads chai and a few Indian desserts.

“Crazy” Frank Huguenard was a high-tech programmer who taught himself how to make pizza at home and did some pizza catering gigs.

Sakar, who won a few awards for his cooking in India, worked as a chef at high-end hotel restaurants like Tivoli Garden (Ishan Hotel), Dubai Hilton, Le Meridian, Inter Continental, etc. The current website says some of the people he’s fed that included the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and members of the Indian Parliament.

So they take over what was Mother India Curry House located in a strip mall with an actual strip bar, adult bookstore and head shop.

If you follow the link to the Crazy Frank’s website, he is in the process of trying to find a new place to open. He has links to reviews by Metroactive and jatbar … which has some nice pictures. Here was another nice blog review.

So fine … good reviews … reports the joint hasn’t changed … the guy who has the cooking creds owns the joint. Sounds great and worth a stop. Not sure, but you might want to check it out soon. While Googling it seems Sakar has his resume out there on the web. Could be left out there from when the restaurant closed for a while though.
